The Philadelphia Phillies shut out the Houston Astros 7-0 at home on Tuesday night, taking the lead in the World Series 2-1. By the fifth inning, Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, Brandon Marsh, Kyle Schwarber, and Rhys Hoskins slammed a record-setting quintet of homers off Astros starter Lance McCullers Jr., MLB.com reported.
The Phillies scored two runs in the first, two runs in the second, and three runs in the fifth while the Astros went scoreless.

Philadelphia Phillies' third baseman Alec Bohm entered the record books on Tuesday night by hitting the 1,000th home run in World Series history.

Harper homers on first pitch
On the first pitch from Astros starter Lance McCullers Jr. in the bottom of the first inning of Tuesday’s Game 3 to Bryce Harper, the Phillies' right fielder and designated hitter slammed it out of the park for a two-run homer to give the Phillies an early lead, Sports Illustrated reported. It was Harper's sixth home run in his 14th game of this postseason.

Country music star Tim McGraw was in the stands attending Game 3 of the World Series in Philadelphia. And in a show of support for the home team, Tim wore the blue jersey with red stripes and lettering of his father, Phillies legend Tug McGraw, who won a World Series with Philadelphia in 1980. In a special moment for the fans, the image was shown on the Jumbotron. Tug McGraw was one of the best pitchers for the Phillies and is a member of the wall of fame, USA Today reported.
