Kaepernick's Raiders Workout a 'Disaster' HOF DT Claims, Rep Claps Back

A Hall of Fame defensive tackle alleged Colin Kaepernick's workout with the Raiders was a 'disaster,' which has the agent for the former NFL quarterback clapping back and disputing the claim.

Kaepernick's Raiders Workout a 'Disaster,' HOF QB says

The agent for former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is currently looking to return to the league, is clapping back after rumors are swirling that Kap's workout with the Raiders was a "disaster."

The workout with the Raiders marked the first time in five years that Kaepernick had been invited to work out for an NFL team, according to CBS Sports.

The claim was made by Warren Sapp, a Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former NFL defensive tackle with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders, who spent 13 years in the league and earned All-Pro honors four times.

Sapp made the claim during an interview with Vlad TV last week when he commented that he had heard that the May 25 workout Kaepernick had with the Raiders was embarrassingly awful.

"I heard it was a disaster," Sapp said. "I heard it was one of the worst workouts ever."

Sapp then spoke of his bewilderment that, because of the ugliness of the workout, video of the poorly executed session hadn't leaked out.

"I'm wondering how the hell this happened and the tape didn't get out, right?" Sapp continued. "I mean, somebody wasn't over the fence or nothing?"

"Come on, man," Sapp added. "We live in a world right now where you can put a drone up and it ain't like they can stop you."

Agent disputes claims

After Sapp's claims circulated, Jeff Nalley, Colin Kaepernick's agent, went on the defensive. Nalley roundly disputed the Hall of Famer's comments.

"I guess Warren didn't talk to the general manager or the head coach," Nalley stated in a text to Pro Football Talk. "I spoke to the GM several times and he said they all thought Kap was in great shape and threw the ball really well and encouraged any team to call him about the workout and he would tell them the same."

"I'm surprised Warren would say that," Nalley continued. "Because it's not true and you would think he would want Kap on a team."

Reportedly, Kaepernick also held multiple throwing sessions over the past few months and is rumored to have impressed everyone who observed and participated, which includes multiple NFL players. In March, Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett caught passes from Kaepernick, saying that the quarterback looks "ready" for return to the NFL. This past off-season, Bears quarterback Justin Fields also threw with Kap and reportedly came away impressed.
