Man sentenced for death of Angels' pitcher Tyler Skaggs

Eric Kay, 48, a former Los Angeles Angels employee, was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison Tuesday for providing Angels' pitcher Tyler Skaggs with the drugs that led to his overdose death in Texas, ESPN reported.

Kay was convicted on one count each of drug distribution resulting in death and drug conspiracy. Skaggs, 27, was found dead on July 1, 2019, in a suburban Dallas hotel room. The coroner's report said he passed away from a toxic mix of alcohol, fentanyl, and oxycodone. Additionally, five Major League players testified they'd received oxycodone pills from Kay at various times from 2017 to 2019.

A photographer who was shoved, as seen in this CBS video, by Los Angeles Raiders' wide receiver Davante Adams has filed a police report over the incident.

"He made arrangements for private transport to the hospital for treatment at which time he called police. The injuries are preliminarily thought to be non-life threatening. The incident will be investigated by our Assault Unit detectives, upon completion they will coordinate with the applicable city or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges."

NFL may put four teams in Europe

The NFL is considering placing four teams, an entire division, in Europe as part of a major international expansion, CBSSports reported.

"There's no question that London could support, not just one franchise, I think two franchises. I really believe that," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. "That's from a fan perspective, from a commercial standpoint, from a media standpoint. I think [London] has proven that."

"We're trying to sort of see, could you have multiple locations in Europe where you could have an NFL franchise, because it would be easier as a division," Goodell added.
