QB Arch Manning, #1 HS Player in the Country, Makes College Football Choice

Arch Manning, the number one high school player in the country and progeny of America's premier football family that includes Archie, Peyton and Eli, has announced which college he will attend and play for this year.

Arch Manning makes decision on college team

Arch Manning is a five-star quarterback from Isidore Newman High School in Louisiana and was ranked the number one player in the class of 2023.

There were plenty of suitors seeking to recruit the talented and committed quarterback with a blue-chip pedigree including Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Texas, and Virginia, ESPN reported.

On Thursday, Arch announced which college team he has chosen: The University of Texas and coach Steve Sarkisian.

"Committed to the University of Texas. #HookEm," Arch Manning tweeted on Thursday.

Choice reflects top quarterback coach to prepare arch for NFL

As the Manning family helped Arch decide on a college destination, a primary motivating factor in the process was a school that would help him prepare for the NFL.

Longhorns coach Sarkisian has a reputation as one of the country's top quarterback tutors, which makes Texas a perfect destination for the young Manning. Sarkisian has NFL experience as well, coaching with both the Raiders and the Falcons.

Another Manning in the family legacy

Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning and the nephew of NFL quarterbacks Eli Manning and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, who are the sons of Pro Football Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Archie Manning.

Arch is named after his legendary grandfather and is already showing that massive football talent indeed runs through this family. In fact, he has been considered a top-flight prospect going all the way back to middle school.

In his first three years of high school, Arch Manning threw for 5,731 yards and 72 touchdowns.

In a scouting report by 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna, he described Arch Manning as follows:

"Possesses an ideal frame at 6-foot-4 and 215-pounds and growth potential to add additional 10 to 15-pounds to his frame at the next level. Displays above average athleticism and adequate mobility as a runner, increasing his rushing totals every season over the last three years."

"Appears to have good pocket awareness / presence and the ability to extend plays with his feet. Has enough mobility as a runner to have to respect him in situational down and distance areas. Exhibits clean feet in the pocket while demonstrating good foot quickness and play tempo in his drop," the report added.
