NFL TE Orson Charles arrested for pulling gun on cops
Former Browns and Bengals tight end Orson Charles was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and carrying a concealed firearm – both felony offenses – after he allegedly pulled a gun and threatened to shoot the two off-duty police officers, CBSSports reported.
The incident occurred on Friday night in the Ybor City neighborhood of Tampa, Florida, and the dispute over a parking spot, according to the Tampa Police Department, WTSP reported.
Police say another car beat Charles to a spot when he was attempting to park. Charles then approached the driver's side door of the vehicle that was occupied by a pair of off-duty officers, pulled a gun from under his shirt, and threatened to shoot them. The officers allegedly showed their badges to Charles, who continued to threaten them before the officers drove away. Tampa Police say an off-duty Hillsborough County deputy monitored Charles after the incident, once he was alerted of the dispute, and followed him until police arrived and took Charles into custody.
Charles, 31, played with six teams during eight seasons in the NFL, his last with the Broncos in 2019.
Elite RB Justice Haynes to Alabama
Four-star running back Justice Haynes of Buford, Georgia, who was a Top 100 ball carrier, has committed to Alabama over the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida, Ohio State, and USC among other interested universities. Haynes credited the Crimson Tide culture in making his decision, 247Sports reported.
"The way that they’re going to develop you on and off the field," Haynes said. "The accountability aspect of it. And the aspect that you’re going to be going against the best every day."
Top 100 prospect Jelani Thurman commits to Ohio State

His visits also included basketball, as he is interested in trying both sports. Ohio State has reportedly worked it out for him to be able to pursue his dream.
Justin Jefferson says he'll be NFL's best WR over Davante Adams
During a recent interview, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, 23, touted Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams as NFL's best WR, but said he is "pretty sure after this year, it's going to be me," ESPN reported.
Jefferson had a rookie record-breaking 1,400 receiving yards in 2020. That record was broken last year by his former LSU teammate Ja'Marr Chase with 1,455 yards. However, Jefferson set another record of 3,016 career receiving yards, the most for any player in their first two seasons.
"I'll say after this year I'll be the best receiver in the NFL," Jefferson said during an interview with Complex.
